AFROSICILIANA - Faces, Colors and Flavors of the African cultures in Sicily

A day of celebration, reflection and meeting dedicated to African cultures in Sicily. The initiative, organized by the Coordination of the African Consuls of the Consular Corps of Palermo, with the support of the City of Palermo, the Rotary Club Mondello and the main sponsors CNA Palermo, MCL Sicilia, ALS MCL Sicilia, Federagri Sicilia, the Associazione Provinciale Cuochi e Pasticceri e Utopia, will take place within the historic setting of Villa Trabia, from 10:00 to 21:00.

A busy program will enliven the day with thematic talks, African fashion shows, children’s activities, show cooking, live music, craft market and an interreligious prayer for peace that will involve all religious denominations present in Palermo. The aim is to build bridges between communities, foster cultural cooperation and promote new economic links between Sicily and African countries.

The event coincides with the International Day of Africa and aims to celebrate the history, identity and progress of the continent, raising public awareness on the issues of solidarity, development and peace. The Consuls General of Morocco, Tunisia and Libya will be present, as well as the Honorary Consuls in Sicily of Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, the Kingdom of Eswatini and Zambia.
